Andrew M. Walker is a resourceful, innovative professional who is committed to positively impacting the health of individuals, organizations and communities. He has contributed to the wellness field for over two decades, working as an exercise specialist, employee wellness program coordinator and wellness instructor in higher education. He is skilled at building and managing best practice workplace health programs.

Walker earned a B.S. degree in health education from the University of Florida, and a master’s degree in public health from the University of South Florida. At AT&T, he was responsible for securing leadership support to fund the implementation of a multi-site program, where he delivered health and productivity seminars and coached wellness committees. He also created and designed a multi-site, evidence based wellness program that positively impacted the health status of city and county employee groups throughout the state of Georgia.  For several years, he taught health and fitness classes in higher education.

Over time, his work has become focused on senior social services.  A highlight was his role in the development of an injury prevention program funded by the Centers for Disease Control that addressed falls prevention in seniors.

Walker, who excelled as a high school All American and four-year letterman in track and field at the University of Florida, has become a dedicated practitioner of Tai Chi Chun. He is certified to teach its benefits in arthritis and falls prevention, and has taught tai chi for participants in Kaiser Permanente’s community health program.
