Track & Field

To compete at the National Senior Games, you must qualify in Track & Field. In order to do so, you must achieve one of the following at a State Senior Games* the year before the National Senior Games:

  • Place in the top four in your specific event and age group. You are eligible to enter as many events as you qualify for.
  • Hit the minimum performance standard (MPS) for your event and age group, regardless of your final placement.

 

*Limited event qualification: If your state does not offer pole vault, you can qualify by submitting proof that you met the pole vault standard at a sanctioned competition the year before Nationals.

Track Events:

50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500 Meter, 4 x 100 Relay

Field Events:

Discus, High Jump, Javelin, Long Jump, Pole Vault, Shot Put, Triple Jump

Shoes must comply with USATF Rule 143, 3(a) – (f).

 

The National Governing Body shall provide certified implements for all events and age groups. In addition, athletes shall be permitted to use their own implements, provided they have been certified by the Track & Field Committee. Athletes who wish to use their own implements shall agree to all certification procedures including but not limited to marking, impounding, etc. Athletes must provide their own vaulting poles.

Venue Information

Hurricane Soccer & Track Stadium (University of Tulsa)

502 South Delaware Avenue, Tulsa, OK 74104

The Hurricane Soccer & Track Stadium will host all Track & Field events. Opened in August 2003, the $4.5 million venue is home to the University of Tulsa’s men's and women's soccer and track & field teams. The complex includes an 8-lane, 400m synthetic surface track, four pits for horizontal jumps, and designated areas for high jump, pole vault, javelin, discus and shot put. The stadium seats 2,000 spectators and features restrooms, locker rooms, a training room, a weight room, concessions and a press box. Free parking is available in various nearby lots, and the venue is located on the University of Tulsa campus, less than 5 miles from the Athlete Village at Arvest Convention Center.
