Your path to better health, lifelong friendships and proving you're never too old to set new goals starts right here — at the National Senior Games.
Will you be age 50 or older by December 31, 2026? You’re officially eligible to compete. Commit to the goal and get ready to jump in.
With 28 sports to choose from, there’s an event for everyone. To reach the 2027 National Senior Games presented by Humana, many sports require athletes to qualify at a State Senior Games in 2026. However, some sports are Open Sports, meaning no prior qualification step is required.
For qualifying sports, you’ll need to meet the standard at a State Senior Games to earn your ticket to Nationals — usually by placing in a top spot or hitting a minimum performance time or score. Playing an Open Sport? Jumping into a state event is still the ultimate warm-up to build confidence and meet local athletes.
Bonus tip: You aren't limited to your home state. Most state competitions allow out-of-state participants, so feel free to compete in other states for extra practice — and extra chances to qualify.
Once all sports in a State Games wrap up, the host submits official results to the National Senior Games for verification. If you met the qualifying standard, your qualification notice and certificate will be heading your way by email. Get ready to celebrate and prep for the national stage! If you fell short this time, don't sweat it. Every event is a chance to build strength, meet new teammates and take another shot.
When you say “yes” to the challenge, you’ve already won. Whether you walk away with a national ticket or a new personal milestone, you are showing the world that moving, connecting and thriving have no age limit.
