Deb Smith

A longtime Parks and Recreation professional, Deb has dedicated her career to strengthening communities, expanding lifelong recreational opportunities and championing girls and women in sports. She is committed to mentoring emerging Parks and Recreation leaders as well as individuals who are in leadership roles in their professional organizations.
Deb is a servant leader striving to empower others, build community and lifelong wellness. Deb is currently the Maine Senior Games Board Chair, co-chair for the Maine Girls and Women in Sports community and on the Board of Directors for GameChanger, a recently created nonprofit with a mission to ignite confidence, community and joy for women through the power of sports.
Deb lives in Portland, Maine, is the organizer for Maine Senior Women’s Basketball and continues to compete at the Maine and National Senior Games with her basketball team, the Maine Flashes. When not playing basketball Deb spends time biking, swimming and at the beach.
Deb returns to the NSGA Board of Directors after a one-year hiatus in 2025. She has served on the National Games Committee, Membership Committee and as the Board Secretary for three years.
