David D. Hurford Memorial Fund
David D. Hurford Memorial Fund
Thanks to the generosity of the David D. Hurford family of California, the David D. Hurford Memorial Fund has been endowed through the NSGA. The purpose of this fund is to provide benefits from the net earnings of the Fund to selected qualified athletes, who can demonstrate hardship in paying fees and expenses such as transportation and housing to attend The Games – National Senior Games.
Every other year, the NSGA attempts to find one male and one female athlete to become the beneficiaries of this fund for the National Senior Games. Each State Coordinator is asked to submit to the NSGA the names of any male or female qualified athlete, who they feel wishes to come to the National Senior Games, but would not be able to participate without financial assistance. Beneficiaries are selected from these submissions.
