Parking Information:

Parking for ALL athletes at UAB Recreation Center for racquetball will be charged a $6 daily rate in all nearby lots with no in & out privileges.  Additionally, all parking garages are not-available, and athlete vehicles will be subject to tow if parked or left there. 

Practice Information:

June 6: 9am - 3pm (All Ages M/W)

Competition Format

  • 2 - 5 players..............................Round Robin
  • 6 - 13 players............................Single Elimination with 1st Loss – Drop Down
  • 14+...........................................Olympic Format

For all matches the following scoring system will be used:

  • Play best 2 out of 3 games to 11 points
  • Bonus points will be awarded if player wins game =  (3 points)
  • Bonus points will be awarded if player wins match = (7 points)
  • Most points per match = 43 points (Highest Average Wins)

Note: Please check-in 30 minutes prior to every match.  Forfeit rule of 10 minutes will be strictly enforced. 



ENTRY REGULATIONS

1. Athletes must provide their own racquets. Balls will be provided.

2. Athletes may compete with only one partner per event. Under NSGA rules, doubles and mixed doubles are classified as events. Therefore, athletes may not compete in more than one age division for doubles and mixed doubles.

3. The age division of competition for doubles will be determined by the younger age of the two partners as of December 31, 2017.



QUALIFYING REQUIREMENTS

1. All first-, second-, third- and fourth-place winners at 2016 NSGA qualifying games will qualify for the 2017 National Senior Games.

2. Athletes must qualify in each racquetball event (singles, doubles and mixed doubles) in which they wish to compete at the 2017 National Senior Games, except when Rule E applies.



MEDALS / AWARDS

Awards will be presented for 1st through 8th place for each style within each age division. All medals and ribbons MUST be collected during the Games. The NSGA will not mail MEDALS or RIBBONS after the Games.

The qualifying procedures and rules of competition for the 2017 National Senior Games are based upon those set forth by the recognized national governing body for each sport. For the National Senior Games, however, some sport rules have been modified and/or revised in the best interest of the competitors. It is your responsibility to review the new rules in the shaded areas and refresh your knowledge on the existing rules.
