Marye Miller, Executive Director of the Older Persons’ Commission, has devoted her life promoting the well-being and happiness of seniors in the Greater Rochester Area in Oakland County, Michigan.

Marye is currently a member of the National Council on Aging; National Association of Nutrition and Aging; Past Senior Committee Chairperson & Secretary of the Michigan Recreation & Park Association; Chairperson of the Michigan Senior Olympics, Michigan Gerontology Society; Charter Member of the Michigan Association of Senior Centers; Treasurer and Board Member of The Ms. Senior Michigan; Michigan Alliance of Aging Services; Founder and Past Charter Member of the Senior Coordinating Agency Network; Northwest Recreational Senior Coordinator.

In 2005, Marye completed her autobiography, Marye with an E…a Journey of Perseverance, Persistence and Passion, which was published by Generations Publishing. state and national level throughout her career. As a trusted member of the community, Marye has, through her leadership and fiscal responsibility, developed a senior program that redefines aging. She empowers older adults through volunteer opportunities, health and wellness programs, and educational programs to continue lifelong learning, and social events including services for the very active to the most frail. The creation of our center contributed to the recognition of the Rochester Area, by CNN, as the thirty-ninth best place to live in our country. Such achievements have been accomplished by a woman with a high school education who has battled Dyslexia throughout her life.
