JD Wood

JD Wood

J.D. Wood is the Tourism Manager for the City of College Station. He is responsible for recruiting, coordinating and managing the tourism based athletic and special events that take place in College Station.

J.D. grew up in Onalaska, Texas and received a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Sport Management from Texas A&M University. Since his graduation, J.D. has had the privilege of working with some of the best in the sport tourism industry including stints with the Dallas Sports Commission, National Senior Games and Texas A&M Athletics.  J.D. has had the opportunity to work on events like the Games of Texas, NBA All-Star game, Cotton Bowl and the NFL Superbowl.

J.D. also participates in several College Station community organizations such as Leadership Brazos (LB), Brazos Valley Lodging Association (BVLA), Young Professionals of Aggieland (YPA), Coach Blair’s Charities and the Texas A&M Sport Management program as an assistant lecturer.

When he is not working or volunteering, J.D. enjoys spending time with his wife, Cherish, and their daughters, Kennedy and Everly.
